St. Andrew Methodist Church Men's Club
The St Andrew Methodist Church Men’s Club is an unchartered group of men from the church who work to support local mission and internal SAMC needs. The club is open to all men of all ages at St Andrew and meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30PM. The meetings are typically held in the Family Life Center and a meal is provided. Occasionally the club will dine out at a local restaurant at the normal time and on those occasions the time and place will be communicated in the bulletin.
The primary fund-raising efforts for the group is BBQs. The club cooks chicken or pork BBQ plates and sells tickets in the church and in the local community. Currently we cook approximately 400 plates at each event. The event is supported by many church members including not only the club but many men and women of the congregation.
The Men’s Club actively supports many of the ministries of the church by providing hot dog suppers at the Fall Festival and Vacation Bible School each year, taking the kids of the church fishing, making financial donations and providing labor to support many projects each year, and treating the single ladies of the church to dinner at the annual Christmas dinner for members and their wives.
The Men’s club has started a prayer ministry where we are praying for our country, our community, and our church. We believe that God’s power is in everything that we do, our job is to be open to opportunities for ministry that He puts before us.
